Spring has well and truly sprung and although we hate to admit it, a good spring clean is in order at all our RBK office locations.
We get it – nobody has the time to block out a day or even an afternoon for cleaning their office. It’s probably not even on your ‘to-do list’ and almost definitely not on your ‘want-to do list’, however the benefits of de-cluttering your office are endless:
1. Productivity
This one is a no-brainer. A clean, clutter free space can make you and your team feel more organised and on-top of everything. When everything is in its place you spend less time looking for things and more time getting the work done (believe it or not those few minutes you spend asking around the office for the stapler every time you need to use it add up over the course of the week!). We thrive on having productive, motivated team members and a tidy office is one way to ensure the team are at their most productive.
Hot tip: Introduce some greenery as we head into spring. A university of Queensland study found that plant life can increase productivity by 15 percent.

Although sickness in the workplace is unavoidable, reducing germs in your office will help to keep your team healthy. A good anti-bacterial spray and wipe of desks, keyboards and mice goes a long way. Dirt, germs, dust buildup and poor indoor air quality all contribute to colds, the flu, viruses, asthma and allergic reactions, so spring-time is the perfect time to stop these nasties in their tracks.
The team at our Narre Warren office have recently taken this to a new level, making their own organic cleaning spray to wipe down the desks and computer equipment while leaving a refreshing citrus smell in our office. Much better than Gregie’s usual chips & gravy smell!
3. Morale booster
Walking into a fresh and clean space makes you feel just that. Fresh, clean, happy and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you. You will feel it and so will your team, it’s an easy win. Where possible, ensure there is natural light and keep things bright and fun heading into spring and summer.
4. First Impressions
We have a great deal of pride in all our office locations, all unique for their own reasons. It’s so important to have a clean, welcoming and inviting space not just for your team but also for your visiting clients and potential new clients.
