Xero Accounting: Why we love it & why you need it.

As a Melbourne Xero Accountant, we wanted to put together a quick list explaining why we love Xero and why you need it. So here it is:

  1. Easy Access

Xero uses cloud software, which means that you can sign into your account whenever you like, wherever you like. Going overseas? No problem. More than one user? Not an issue either. All your data is saved in the cloud for you to access at any time. It means you aren’t relying on a particular computer where the program is loaded. Instead, you can use any iPad, phone or laptop you have handy to check your info at the time you need to check it.

  1. Invoicing

How do you invoice clients? Maybe a spreadsheet to keep track of them and a word template to create them? Such a clunky system can mean mistakes and a lot of time wasting. Xero produces custom invoices for you, saves client information and can even send them off for you. If you have overdue accounts, Xero can send clients reminders to pay, leaving you out of what can sometimes become an awkward situation. You can then check your invoice history, including paid, pending and late easily and quickly.

  1. Time saver

The first two points share a common theme: tasks that were once taking up too much admin time have now become quick and efficient. As a business owner, every minute is precious and a program that can save you hours of work is invaluable.

  1. Reduced costs

Time equals money, and you could be flushing dollars down the toilet. Easy access for you also means easy access for your accountant. Their job is easier and your bill is smaller. No need for a bookkeeper anymore either!

  1. Scalability

As your business expands, Xero will keep up with you. You’ll be able to make informed business decisions with your financials at your fingertips and keep track of budgets, outgoings and incomings with ease.

  1. Add Ons

You’ve got over 500 apps that add onto Xero. No matter what industry you’re in, there is an app that will customise your account to suit your business. We use WorkflowMax to manage our practice, then you’ve got things like Unleashed and Trade Gecko for inventory, Stripe and PayPal for payments, Vend and Shopify for POS, Receipt Bank and Expensify for record keeping… the list goes on.
7.  Payroll & Superannuation

Paying employees can be one of the most confusing and complicated parts about being a boss. Witholding tax, super obligations (you get the point) take time and have little to no room for mistakes. Xero makes all of it streamlined and easy. You enter the hours, it figures it out for you and even pays each employees super. If you are paying people, you are now required to use a clearing-house or compliant software. It’s the perfect time to make the switch!

In an upcoming interview, Victoria from Victoria Walker Social Media said “Xero has had a huge impact on my business. I started growing quickly and without it, I couldn’t have stayed on top of my invoicing and financials in such a hectic period. Jason got me onto Xero and it’s some of the best business advice I’ve ever received.”
