At Last a Pathway out of the Covid challenge has been laid down. Each triggered triggered by vaccination % achievement.
Business confidence will hopefully be restored somewhat, by federal government making clear what our pathway out of this is…. Get vaccinated and we head out of lockdowns. We now have a pathway to normal life laid down – prior to this it seemed we were simple being reactive (State Governmwnts) rather than an overall plan/pathway out of this mess
Phase 1 - Suppression, vaccination (we are in now)
Suppression, vaccination. Lockdowns to now be a last resort only reducing returning travellers (Intl) by 50%.
Phase 2 - Minimise serious illness
Minimise serious illness, hospitalisation and fatality. Lockdowns emergency only to minimise hospitalisation and fatalities. Restore inbound passenger caps. Vaccine booster program
Phase 3 - Consolidation
Consolidation phase. Manage Covid consistent with other infectious diseases only. That is like the flu.. Nil lockdowns.
Vaccinated travellers accepted.
Phase 4 - Completely back to normal
Completely back to normal. Uncapped arrivals including unvaccinated with testing
