What is NAIDOC Week?
Every July, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
With NAIDOC week celebrations in full swing, the ATO are constantly working towards better meeting the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and supporting the contributions they make across Australia.
Whether you’re running a business or just getting started, there are lots of ways the ATO and the tribe at RBK Advisory can help.
Some of the initiatives for Indigenous small business that are in place:
- The ATO have an Indigenous Helpline
- There are specialists within the ATO that can help for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with:
- getting a TFN
- lodging a tax return
- finding a super
- You can also get the help you need at a time that’s convenient for you by completing the online form to book a time from 6.00pm–8.00pm Monday-Thursday (except public holidays)
- There’s a small business assist tool with live chat where you can ask about
- activity statements
- account enquiries
- updating details.
Live chat is available from 3.00pm–8.00pm AEST Monday-Friday and 10.00am–2.00pm AEST Saturday (except public holidays).
We love any initiative that helps people from all walks of life get a kick-start in the small business world! Remember we’re here to help for anything tax or business advice related.
